Guarding Your Air
August 16, 2012
When you consider that the Environmental Protection Agency’s indoor air quality report names indoor air quality as one of the top five environmental health risks because the air inside homes and businesses is two to five times more polluted than the air outdoors, and the fact that most people spend up to 90% of their time indoors, you’ll realize that it’s a good idea to think about installing an air cleaner in your home, such as RGF’s Guardian air or REME.
The average person breathes in about 1,120,000,000 particles every day, including dust, molds, viruses, bacteria, and dander. The smallest of these are called respirable particles because they can be inhaled and lodge in the lungs, aggravating respiratory illnesses and allergies.
The single best way to improve indoor air is to ventilate with clean air from outdoors. But that’s not always possible. When you can’t open the windows, you have to rely on other methods of improving the air, such RGF’s Guardian Air and REME air cleaners.
Air cleaners don’t filter the air. Both of RGF’s air cleaners use a PHI (photohydroionization) cell to radiate oxidizers that are harmless to humans and animals, but deadly to viruses, mold, and bacteria. This oxidized air travels throughout your home cleaning the air, not waiting for the air to pass through a filter to be cleaned. It’s an active cleaning system, not a passive one, and so 100% of the air is cleaned.
The PHI cell is installed in your duct work and will eliminate 98% of these harmful contaminants—both on surfaces such as furniture and those in the air. It will also kill 85% of the gasses and odors present. PHI cells are used by hospitals, cruise ships, restaurants, hotels, and the food processing industry to kill bacteria and mold.
The Guardian Air is always on the job, cleaning the air throughout your home 24 hours a day. It reduces odors, air pollutants, VOCs, smoke, mold, bacteria, and viruses. It easily installs into a heating and air conditioning system and begins cleaning immediately.
The REME (Reflective Electro-Magnetic Energy) takes air cleaning one step further. It does all of the things that the Guardian Air does, and in addition, its technology works with your air filter to remove particulate matter, such as dust and dander, from the air, as well as being effective against H1N1 and Swine Flu. It is more effective than a HEPA-type filter.
When a human sneezes, germs are expelled at about 100 miles per hour. Yuck! Tests show, however, that with a REME installed, 88% of those germs were neutralized within three feet of their source. That is protection that we can all use during cold and flu season.
There are many types of air cleaners that will offer some protection against airborne contaminants, but Guardian Air and REME are state-of-the-art.
